It adds countless options to give you greater control over your Sims and your world, more for the convenience of the player than stability per se, but the mod can still be used to help keep your game running smoothly, too. If you’re familiar with Deaderpool’s MCCC mod for The Sims 4, this mod is its predecessor. This mod removes anywhere between 70-100+ abandoned cars every single night in my game. The Overwatch mod switches off all televisions and radios in the world at 3am as well as deletes any abandoned cars sitting around town. When left unchecked, all this junk can bloat your save file over time until it can’t even load anymore. This mod acts as a periodic cleanup tool that removes junk and buggy objects from your game every night at 3am. NRaas OverwatchĪnother must-have mod to keep The Sims 3 running smoothly is the Overwatch mod. The Error Trap has fixed so many problems in my Sims 3 worlds, particularly when it comes to Sims getting stuck aging or becoming trapped in an unroutable location. If it catches an error it can’t correct, it “traps” the error and logs it so your save file can still load. This mod is a life saver! It catches and attempts to correct script errors that too often corrupt your save and render it unloadable.

There are mods available to handle route failure and other problems that arise during the course of Sims 3 gameplay, such as Twallan's Overwatch.Let’s start with must-have mods, first. This can potentially take a lot of time / detective work, especially if you have a large population. The best thing you can do is find the particular Sim (or Sims) that is getting stuck, then figure out why they're getting stuck. If you've modified any houses, buildings or community lots, there may be an unintended building obstruction causing some of the issues. Repeated applications of this can cause long term negative effects. This will disrupt any activity the Sim is currently engaged in. Use caution with "resetsim *" (resets all Sims in neighborhood). Hopefully the problem doesn't return.often it will.

They can also get stuck as they travel throughout the neighborhood. Pets includes animal/strays spawning in your neighborhood. At that point, the game will lag significantly due to the route failure, as the game tries to process a way out for the Sim. As Sims go about their way in your neighborhood, their routed destination will often fail (for one reason or another). In a vanilla game (Sims 3, no mods, no custom content), route failure (Sims stuck) is a likely culprit.

I've enjoyed the game while its been running fine, and I would love to keep doing so!! Sorry if this is becoming a repetitive forum topic, but if anyone could spare the time to help if they've encountered this before, it would be much appreciated. I've done some browsing about lag issues with the Sims 3, but most of the discussion revolves around DLC, which I don't have. The game ran fine for a few hours, like the first time, but now it goes through this same lag again. I've also tried reinstalling the game, which helped for a while. I've tried validating files, only to have it come up with all files successfully validated. It just experiences the same lag issues like clockwork. This will go on indefinitely, and it only stops if I exit and restart the game, but the problem is, after restarting it, the game just runs fine for about ten minutes before proceeding to run in to these lag spikes again,įixes I've tried for it are turning the settings to the lowest, to no avail.

The game freezes for about five to ten seconds, then resumes and runs for about twenty to thirty more, and then freezes again. I had put a few hours in to the game with it running perfectly on the highest settings, but now, after about ten minutes of play, my game will go through weird lag spikes. So, the game had run fine since I had purchased it on steam. Also, my computer specifications are more than enough to run The Sims 3 on the highest possible settings. To start off with, I just have the base Sims 3, no DLCs. Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone at the community could help me with a sudden strange issue of lag I've now been having.
